White Christmas Eve in Sunny South Africa?

Love to say that we had a white Christmas like they have up north but here in Sunny South Africa we don't get those. We did get a white Christmas Eve though, thanks to a rather lengthy and powerful hailstorm. The hailstones were the size of golf balls so the grass and paving were covered in the beautiful, white-crystals.
It was such a pleasure to watch my neighbours and their children running barefoot over the white lawn, then gather the hail up into toy wagons to keep it longer, and make the moment last. Truly this is what memories are made of. The photo I have of it is not the best quality but it should give you an idea of our summertime-winter-wonderland.

I get the feeling that the visiting Swiss family was getting a bit homesick so God gave them just a wee taste of home, if only for a half-hour or so.

Feenixchild = One fabulous band!

A friend of mine, Roger Hobbs, is in a music video with South African band, Feenixchild.  They recently recorded their first music video for their song: Sometimes and I have decided to share it with you.

Switzerland the land of my dreams

In my grade 4 or 5 year we were assigned to do a geography project on a country of our choice.  I chose Switzerland and have been enamored with the place ever since. I've been praying - yes I said praying - for years for an opportunity like this and God has answered my prayers: I have a trip to Switzerland coming up in 2011 and I'm way excited. OK, so the trip will be during the coldest part of their year but who cares right? Other than on television and once where it snowed here, I haven't seen snow. This is going to be great.

Has any one of you ever been there? It would be great to hear about it. Post a comment at the bottom of this post about it or any other travels that you may have had.

When your own blog bores you..

...It's time for a change.  I haven't been on my blog for a while. And I knew I'd changed my template and all, but boy oh boy was I shocked at how boring I left it. So I hope you like the new design.  It may change in the future but for now I want it colourful.

I typed out some poems on my computer earlier this year which I had forgotten about.  I rediscovered them yesterday and was somewhat surprised at my own work. I will share these with you soon (I'm not at my own computer right now).

Is there anyone out there reading this?  Love to hear from you so please feel free to leave comments.
